The Bollywood sensation Preity Zinta has been issued summons from the Chandigarh court on Monday 22 by which the chairperson Preity Zinta and co-owner Ness Wadia of the IPL King’s XI Punjab for utilizing the pictures of freedom fighters in their IPL promotions. The city based NGO Global Human Rights Council filed a complaint against them and the Additional Chief Magistrate Anshul Berry issued the summons against them on 22 March.

The NGO objected the Kings XI that they had used the pictures of freedom fighters in their IPL team promotions which hurt the sentiments of the people. The president of the NGO Arvind Thakur said that the summons could not reach the accused because they were traveling around the country for their match venues, Arvind further said he will personally hand over the summons to Preity Zinta and others at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium. The court has summoned Zinta and Wadia April 2.

According to IPL Kings XI they have already submitted a public confession through some daily newspapers. But they have not given assurance that they will not indulge in such activities in future. Therefore, we want them to render an apology before the court.
