Lafangey Parindey Could Not Made Great Business At Box Office

Although the title of the film might be crisp as nachos but the love story played by Neil and Deepika “Lafangey Parindey” couldn’t proved crunchy enough to attract the audience. The film could not do great business at box office as it manages only 50 percent occupancy over the weekend on an average. The content of the film was appreciated but the star cast caused for low business.

The movie turned out business was Rs.35 million while the expected business was Rs. 100 – Rs. 110 million. On the other hand, Aamir Khan Productions “Peepli Live” made the business of Rs. 210 million and the budget of the film was 100 million.

As far as the acting concerned, Deepika Padukone has won the appreciation for her character while Neil Nitin Mukesh failed to prove his acting skills here also, recently he had also failed to win appreciations for his film Jail.

Deepika And Yuvraj Singh Are Friends Again

Yesterday my friend came to me with hot news about Deepika Padukone. On asking she told me that Deepika is back to being good friends with Yuvraj Singh. As we all know that their friendship had broken when she dumped her for Ranbir Kapoor.

Nonetheless, point is that the truce was affected by a prominent owner of an IPL franchisee at the Mumbai Indians v/s Royal Challengers Bangalore semi-final a couple of evenings ago. She further discloses that this franchisee owner recommended that Deepika let bygones be bygones vis-a-vis Yuvraj who had gone to the match for a dekko.

It seems that, Deepika and Yuvi returned with the franchisee owner in his chopper and then drove off to the Taj Mahal Hotel to party. Shammi Kapoor Asked Out Deepika For Another Date, Bollywood Celebrity News

Colorful yesteryear Bollywood style icon Shammi Kapoor has once again asked young artist Deepika Padukone out for coffee. He posted these lines on her twitter page “Morning love. How are thee? Only get to see you in (Vijay) Mallya match. Another cuppa another day? What say you,” This is what he posted on Deepika’s Twitter page.

He invited Deepika right after two weeks the two met for a date. Deepika had expressed how it was her best date ever. But she is so busy with her shooting that she may not accept his request. She replied to his on her microblogging website that “namaste shammi uncle! would love to… only thing is I’ve been shooting everyday and packing up way past your coffee time,”

Working In KCK Was Not Similar To Being On Home a Ground: Says Deepika

The Om Shanti Om beauty Deepika Padukone has always played an important role in her films so far just pick up any of her film Om Shanti Om, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Love Aaj Kal, she played a significant part in the films. Even from her flop films like Chandi Chowk To China she did have ample screen time with a double role to her credit.

This is the reason when one observes her in a couple of song strings and a light hearten scene or two in Karthik Calling Karthik, one questions if this is all that she has to offer in the film? One surprises if there is room for any standard romance in Karthik Calling Karthik. Further than a couple of love songs and a night club number, Deepika and Farhan can’t really be predictable to romance around the trees in the film. So how does the entire loving angle merge with the narrative?

During her interview she agrees that the film is a thriller at the end of the day and this is her first time to perform in the thriller genre. She further said that “Having said that, it was quite a lot of fun and challenge for me to be a part of it. The film is very different from its subject, plot, look and treatment perspective. I am glad to be doing something of this kind since I truly believe in what was explained to me abut Karthik Calling Karthik and hence chose it.”

One also likely to believe that working in this film must have been parallel to being relaxed in a home ground for Deepika. After all she comes from similar urban sensibilities and by the look of things; Karthik Calling Karthik too has its roots in being an urban up to date tale.

She nodded her head in disagreement and said “The minute you become a part of a film, you transform from your real self to being a character. This is where you potential as a performer come in. Shonali is very different person from what I am in real life. Hence, there was a definite effort involved in bringing her alive on screen. It wasn’t like being on a home ground for sure.”

Talking about her film choices she said that she can’t be expected to have signed a film for the lure of big banner, big bucks and a rising star. There has to be a lot more than that and possibly the previews are not showing it all whilst primarily focusing on Farhan’s character of ‘Karthik’. So is Deepika the ‘band muththi’ a.k.a. a surprise part in this debut directorial project of Vijay Lalwani?

“Well, keep guessing”, Deepika gives that playful smile here, “It is a thriller after all and I can’t be expected to reveal anything beyond a point. Of course you are right in saying that my roles have always boasted of good substance in them and Karthik Calling Karthik is going to be no different. Beyond that, I would rather be mum and wait for you to watch the film and then react.”
